On January 23, 2000, New York University School of Medicine will be visited by a survey team of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). The LCME accredits all the educational programs leading to the MD degree at medical schools in the United States and Canada based on a review of an extensive database, an institutional self-study, and a four-day site visit and report by medical educators from other medical schools. As you know, we were last visited in 1993 and were accredited for the full seven-year term.
To perform our self study, this web site will bring together the findings of the Task Force committees in an accessible and useful manner. In order to facilitate communication, individual e-mail listings and e-mail groups for each committee are archived here.

The Office of Accreditation is the center of all accreditation activities and was established to answer questions with its personnel serving as facilitators for all aspects of this project.
